ZODIAC 6-SPEED OVERDRIVE GEARBOX - Transmission offset 45mm Softail aluminium

The Zodiac 6-speed Overdrive gearbox is the latest in power multiplication and is currently the strongest available on the market. Zodiac has based this gearbox on its 5-speed unit, which has been extensively used in competition. With the new 6-speed Zodiac gearbox, you have a 1:1 ratio in 5th gear, while 6th gear offers a 1:0.86 ratio, reducing engine revolutions at the same speed, resulting in less vibration, reduced wear and breakage, and improved fuel economy. The 6-speed Zodiac gearbox features an improved gear selector compared to the 5-speed model. The drum is not cast but machined using a CNC process. The fork slots are more precise, resulting in more accurate gear changes. The gear detent has been upgraded to a later roller-type model, resulting in smoother shifts, and the selector drum bearings have been upgraded by 100% to higher-quality units, resulting in smoother rotation. The gears are the same width as those in the original 5-speed gearbox, and the 6th gear pinion is also wide, on both the main shaft and the secondary shaft, where the pinion and shaft are a single piece. All this improves torque and power. The 6-speed Zodiac Overdrive gearbox is supplied complete with an aluminium billet cover. Complete 6-speed kits are available for Softail with a Delkron black casing or with our budget-priced polished casing, or for FXR 1990-1994 with a Delkron casing. Other models and years can be built to order. The Zodiac gearbox is more powerful than any other currently available. The material used for the manufacture of the gears and shafts is 20ChMnT, highly resistant to fatigue. Once machined, they are tempered and stress-relieved. The complete 6-speed Zodiac gearbox is ready for installation. As it is based on the 5-speed gearbox, you will have no problems during fitting. The billet cover includes the housing for the speedometer sensor, which can be plugged if you wish to use a front-wheel speed sensor. Gearboxes with primary offset are supplied complete with all parts required to offset the primary drive.

 Note: Installing an electronic speedometer on a 6-speed gearbox on models from 1994 onwards may require a recalibration unit ZPN 236690 or 236082.
