RED SHIFT THUNDERMAX cams for Twin Cam

Red Shift ThunderMax cams are designed to deliver unrivalled performance and smooth, linear power with great valvetrain dynamics. They are machined from a single piece of 8620 steel using the latest manufacturing techniques. Available with standard splined sprocket chain drive or configured for use with S&S Gear-Drive gear sets. Red Shift recommends fitting new cam bearings and performance rocker arms with any cam change. All ThunderMax cams require adjustable pushrods; valve spring modification is required unless otherwise stated as a bolt-in cam. Gear drive camshafts are supplied as a single cam kit with one front and one rear cam. For cam drive gears, as well as the necessary gaskets, bearings and other hardware, see further on.
 
 Notes:
 
•Early 1999 models may require the separate purchase of the ZPN splined cam sprocket 700835. 
 •Ensure you select the correct cam for the job. Increasing the compression ratio and/or displacement beyond the recommended range for each cam will increase cylinder pressure, making the engine harder to start and more prone to detonation. Lower compression ratios or displacements will weaken performance at low and mid-range RPMs.
 •A hydraulic press and other professional tools are required to install the cams in Twin Cam engines. Furthermore, material must be removed from the inner surface of the original gear cover to install the S&S Gear Drive.
 •New cam bearings and a new gear cover gasket are required to complete this installation. These parts are supplied in the camshaft installation support kit. If you want to upgrade from the original silent chain drive system on 1999-2006 models (except Dyna 2006), order: 1 set of adjustable cams, 1 gear drive cam kit ZPN721948 and a camshaft installation support kit ZPN721950.
 •To upgrade from the original roller chain drive system on 2006 Dyna models or any current Twin Cam 2007 models, order: 1 set of cams, 1 cam drive gear kit ZPN750871 and 1 cam support installation kit ZPN750873.
 •Due to the characteristics of gear transmissions, you may experience some valve train noise.
