Many OEM starter motors have an unprotected needle output bearing outside the output shaft seal; moisture can enter the electric motor cover and reach the bearing, causing corrosion.
Rick’s adds a double-sealed ball bearing, with the output shaft seal on the outside of the bearing in its new aftermarket unit.
This practical engineering solution achieves two things: first, the outer bearing is now protected against water ingress, and second, the sealed ball bearing is replaceable.
