Adjust the bolt to the OEM specification. Always use grease on the tightening bolt to obtain an accurate torque reading. Avoid using threadlocker. The use of threadlocker on the tightening bolt or gear change pedal voids the manufacturer's warranty. After the first fifteen minutes of riding, check the tightening bolt torque. It may loosen and damage the spline. Motorcycles vibrate; periodically check the torque to prevent the gear lever from loosening.
