Explanation of the innovative PCX™ technology from Vance & Hines: More power and less heat.
PCX™ (Power Chamber Exhaust) Technology is chambered high flow catalytic converters. They are used to increase mid-range torque for more responsive acceleration from a standstill. They are positioned downstream to reduce heat at the footpegs / floorboards by up to 20% and in the header by up to 50%, optimising rider comfort compared to the stock system.
PCX™ technology uses a high-flow dual-matrix catalyst that improves mid-range torque delivery for more responsive acceleration. All of this produces a deeper, fuller roar, without compromising the style of any Vance & Hines exhaust system.
Technical tip: Pre-2021 US silencers on a 2021 onwards EU Softail/Touring?
US models from '21 onwards have only 2 O2 sensors in the headers. EU models from '21 onwards (Euro 5 system) have a total of 3 or 4 O2 sensors, plus 1 or 2 downstream in the silencer(s) or in the balance pipe of the crossover section. Therefore, US '21-23 exhaust systems do not fit EU '21-23 models.
The FuelPak FP4 (part number 942227) allows you to deactivate the second downstream O2 sensor without triggering fault codes. This will allow you to use pre-2021 US or EU exhaust silencers that are not equipped with a downstream O2 sensor connection.
