MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) explained: MLS consists of a top and bottom layer of stamped stainless steel, with both sides coated with a high-temperature resistant polymer rubber layer rated to 250°C. The inner ring is also stainless steel. The gasket layers are riveted together, outside the gasket surface, for easy installation. The outer layers are stamped and both sides coated with a polymer rubber layer resistant to 250°C. MLS cylinder head gaskets eliminate the use of guide pin O-rings when in use.
