Progressive Rate fork spring kits smooth out the small bumps in the road, yet are firm enough to absorb the ones that rattle your teeth. The spring rates have been chosen to reduce front-end "dive" under braking, whilst maintaining excellent ride comfort. Progressive Rate fork springs have a clear advantage over straight-rate springs, as Progressive springs are designed with an increasing compression resistance rate. The benefit of this is that the spring can be soft enough at the start of the travel to offer a "plush" ride and firm enough at the end of the travel to absorb the big bumps.
