S&S camshaft kit, M8 gear-driven, 550G

Horsepower cam for 114 and larger engines. On the S&S dynamometer, a 114" Street Glide with Stealth air filter and Power Tune dual exhausts with Mk45 silencers reached 120 HP. The cam and gear kit includes cam, drive gear and driven gear on the cam. Includes all necessary bearings, O-rings and hardware. Gear-driven cams offer greater precision in valve timing and a more solid mechanical sound compared to chain-driven cams.
Note: This is a small base circle cam. It requires adjustable push rods and high-strength valve springs. S&S recommends the Quickee push rod and cover kit 558660 and the S&S .605" high-strength valve spring kit 565784.
Note: For best performance, as with all high-performance cams, the use of a free-flowing air filter and exhaust system is recommended.
Note: With every cam change, S&S recommends its 583903 precision tappet set.
