The roller chain system was introduced on the Dyna in 2006 and subsequently as standard on all 2007 Twin Cam, to replace the silent chain. The conversion kit replaces the spring chain tensioner with one that operates on oil pressure. The sprocket side bearing is replaced with a stronger one. Less wear and easy installation are the direct results of this change. These conversion kits guarantee Twin Cam owners more performance and a long engine life. A camshaft set must be ordered from the list below, plus a roller chain conversion kit for Twin Cam 1999-2001 or 2002-2006. The kits include a state-of-the-art oil pump to allow the hydraulic tensioners to function properly, and also everything else needed to install the Andrews conversion camshafts. Note: these camshafts will not work on Dyna 2006-2017, or Twin Cam 2007-2017. These camshafts have been designed for use with original hydraulic lifters. Convenient EZ-install lifter kits are also available elsewhere in this chapter.
