Ger Dijkshoorn (born 1947 in Rotterdam, Netherlands) has owned one of the most established specialist Harley-Davidson workshops in Utrecht, Netherlands, since 1978. Peter van den Barselaar, founder of the Dutch Motorcycle Academy, once complained that a great deal of knowledge about classic and vintage Harleys was being lost as many veteran mechanics retired. He asked Ger to write up some details on Linkert carburettors so he could deliver a training course. What started as a few notes ended up as a booklet, and that Linkert manual was only a starting point. The second in the series is this manual on the DC generators used up to 1969 on most Harley-Davidsons. The third item in this series explains everything you need to know about the Shovelhead engine.
