All shock absorbers are measured centre-to-centre of the eyelet.
When fitting shock absorbers to XL models '86-'15, it may be necessary to modify or space the chain/belt guard for a proper fit.
A slightly longer damper than original can slightly alter the steering angle and provide quicker steering.
A slightly shorter shock absorber than the original can slightly modify the steering angle and provide somewhat slower steering.
Recommended Heavy Duty applications for motorcycles operating at or near the manufacturer's maximum load more than 50% of the time.
Before purchasing or installing shock absorbers of a different length to the original, confirm that the wheel travel can be modified without causing space issues, such as contact between swingarm/axle and exhaust, or between chain/belt guard and tyre.
