From the moment the new Twin Cam engines appeared, their potential for increased power was clear. Andrews has designed and developed 4 new camshaft grinds that make it easy to find the available power. The Twin Cams produce a wider torque curve compared with earlier engines. All the new Andrews camshafts have been designed for use with standard hydraulic lifters and with Andrews "EZ-Install" pushrods in galvanised aluminium as well as chrome-moly. These pushrods do not require removing the fuel tank or rocker covers for installation. Andrews also offers a hardened, 34-tooth sprocket for the rear camshaft of the later Twin Cams. The earliest Twin Cams have the sprocket fixed with a keyway, the later ones by means of a splined shaft. These sprockets are made from heat-treated alloy steel. We recommend these sprockets for your standard engine but they are essential if you fit Andrews camshafts. The sprocket is not included and must be ordered separately. There are Andrews camshafts for all Twin Cam models. The silent chain version suits 1999-2006 Touring, 2000-2006 Softail and 1999-2005 Dyna. Early 1999 models may require separate purchase of the splined cam sprocket ZPN 700835. "Roller Chain" for 2007-2016 Touring, 2009-2016 Trike, 2007-2017 Softail and 2006-2017 Dyna.
