Full black anodised finish. A large filtration surface is essential to maximise airflow through the filter. However, an enormous filter was not viable; it had to be compact and highly effective. This is where Arlen Ness designers came into play. By adding the internal surface of the air cleaner to the external one, the filtration area is greatly increased. With the radius-integrated air intake, this air cleaner showed some of the highest flow rates ever tested by Ness. The final appearance gives the air cleaner a very small, custom and attractive velocity stack look, which effectively draws in air from all sides and also provides more leg room. The filter elements are made from synthetic material. They are water resistant, so a rain cover is generally not required. The filters are reusable; simply rinse and reinstall. No oiling required.
Note: The breather design is sealed with an O-ring in the cylinder heads, passes through the backplate and sits inside the mouth of the throttle body/carburettor. This eliminates external breather hoses so as not to detract from the clean look.
