0.020" thick rubber coated steel (RCS).
Gasket with stamped steel core and heat resistant nitrile rubber coating 0.001" thick on both faces.

Note: 'A' type gasket explained: The 'A' type was introduced on the 1984 Evolution Big Twin models and can be used on all 1340cc Evo models from 1984 to 1999, fitting the cylinder base contours perfectly. They fit 1986 to 2022 Evo XLs, but protrude at the cylinder base. This may be an issue with silicone-beaded base gaskets. Both the 'A' type and 'B' type have identical inner diameter, oil hole location and bolt holes. The gaskets for the front and rear cylinders are identical. The only difference between the 'A' and 'B' gaskets is the outer perimeter.
