ZODIAC "WIDE-TAIL" CHASSIS EVOLUTION SOFTAIL STYLE - Individual components, Shock guard plate

For a custom chassis, it is not only important that it looks good but also that it handles well and withstands the most extreme forces (long fork, high-performance engine, top-quality brakes, etc.), vibrations and fatigue. It is also sensible that any combination of engine and gearbox fits into the chassis without modification. The chassis builders have decided to use thick-walled tubing, the same type used for their Dragster chassis, which significantly improves stability without compromising the chassis's appearance. The steering angle has been set at 38°, requiring the use of a fork 4" to 8" longer depending on the wheels and tyres you use. The rear part of the chassis is prepared to accept wide tyres, including the new Avon "Big Foot" 200, in combination with a chain. Mounts for the kickstand and forward controls are in place. All chassis welds are TIG welded. The chassis accepts almost all original forks, as well as our high-tech Ceriani fork, and any Panhead, Shovelhead or Evolution Big Twin engine, including Stroker engines, in combination with a 4 or 5-speed gearbox (if you use the 4-speed gearbox, you must use the spacer rings supplied with the chassis). The complete kit contains: chassis, swingarm with stainless steel mudguard extension plate, stainless steel swingarm bolts with extended (chrome-plated) spacers, chrome-plated rear axle with chrome-plated nut and washers, shock absorber protection plate, and five spacer rings for use with a 4-speed gearbox. For those starting from scratch, we offer an OEM swingarm bearing kit. 
 Note: Zodiac Wide-Tail chassis are homologated by the Dutch RDW and German approval as replacement chassis for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Engine capacity must not exceed 1740 cc, and power must not exceed 110 hp. The Wide-Tail chassis can be used with our homologated swingarms and our homologated Ceriani forks.
