.030" MLS (Multi-Layer-Steel). For water and oil-cooled motorcycles. The special design allows the gasket to seat in the cylinder recess... even keeping the oil cooling passage open in oil-cooled heads. With this gasket, the 4.250" big bore size is a direct bolt-on application for M8 models, both water and oil-cooled.
MLS (Multi-Layer-Steel) explained: MLS consists of a top and bottom layer of embossed stainless steel, with both faces coated with a high-temperature-resistant polymer rubber layer rated to 250°C. The inner ring is also stainless steel. The gasket layers are riveted together, outside the gasket surface, for easy installation. The outer layers are embossed and both faces are coated with a polymer rubber layer resistant to 250°C. MLS cylinder head gaskets eliminate the need for alignment pins or O-rings.
