MLS (Multi Layer Steel) explained: MLS consists of a top and bottom layer of stamped stainless steel, with both faces coated with a polymer rubber layer resistant to 250°C. The inner ring is also stainless steel. The gasket layers are riveted together, outside the gasket surface, to facilitate installation. The outer layers are stamped and both faces coated with a polymer rubber layer resistant to 250°C. MLS cylinder head gaskets eliminate the use of alignment pins or O-rings.
