AFM (Aluminium Foam Material). Used between the transmission bearing housing and the transmission end cover.
OEM replacement reference 36801-79.
Cometic AFM gaskets are manufactured with an aluminium core and a thin layer of chemically blown composite nitrile foam type synthetic rubber, bonded to both sides. Resistant to temperatures above 250°F (122°C). AFM rubber has an 85% recovery whilst maintaining strong torque retention. No re-torque, gasket sealants or silicone beads required.
