The Dyna "S" electronic ignition system is a complete system that fits behind the ignition cover. It uses a magnetic rotor and "Hall" effect magnetic sensors, unaffected by rev changes, dirt or oil. The Dyna "S" works with the original mechanical advance. It is designed for normal use, Touring or competition, and is quicker to set up than points. Two versions are available: the high-performance version that replaces the points system, and a Single Fire version. The Single Fire version does not spark both plugs simultaneously at top dead centre, only in the cylinder that is on the compression stroke. This means the cylinder that is on valve overlap and may still have traces of mixture inside is not ignited unnecessarily by the spark. Both systems are easy to install and require no modifications, and carry a 3-year warranty. Both Dual- and Single Fire fit Sportster 1971-1979 and Big Twin 1970-1979. The kits can also be installed on Big Twin 1980-1999 and Sportster 1980-2003 using a mechanical advance. 
 
 Note: Dyna S ignitions must be used with 5Ohm coils. Coils with a primary resistance of 3Ohm are for competition use only.
