Eurol, DOT 5 silicone brake fluid

250cc bottle. Purple colour. Not aggressive to paintwork. Not compatible with anti-lock brakes (ABS) due to its increased foam formation. Does not absorb water. Do not mix with other brake fluids.
Technical tip: If you want to use DOT 5, it may be easier to decide whether it is right for you with some additional knowledge about this type of brake fluid. Silicone DOT 5 is not aggressive towards painted surfaces and plastics, has anti-corrosive characteristics, is non-hygroscopic and therefore does not absorb water. Great characteristics for vehicles that are not used much. However, when water accumulates in the brake system over time and is not absorbed by the brake fluid, it could in theory create pockets of water that could boil in extreme circumstances. This could result in vapour lock and total brake failure. Since silicone DOT 5 does not absorb water, accumulated water may not be completely removed from the brake system when changing the brake fluid. Silicone DOT 5 should never be mixed with DOT 3 or 4 brake fluids. It is also not compatible with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) or ASR (Traction Control) as it foams more easily.
