Eight JIMS Milwaukee gear shift shaft bushing remover and installer

In 2017, Harley-Davidson introduced the Milwaukee Eight powertrain. Included in this powertrain update, the inner primary shift lever shaft bushing was redesigned as a thin-wall bushing. Although this is a design improvement, over time this bushing will wear causing free play in the shift lever shaft. Ultimately, the shaft, lever and pedal vibrate when in use, causing a rattling noise and a loose gear lever. The shift lever shaft bushing cannot be pressed out. Removing this thin-wall bushing without the proper tool is a challenge and could cause costly damage to the inner primary. This Jims tool is designed to remove the old bushing with a unique knurled receiver cup and driver. A new installation driver is included in the kit to correctly install a new shift lever shaft bushing to the proper depth. Once completed, the gear lever will work like new again.
