For reference only: For identification purposes, we have named the earlier speedometer globes 'FL style' with 'model years'. These may not accurately represent the actual model years and are for reference use only.
Most FL-style speedometers are available with K.M.H. or M.P.H. faces. All speedometers from the '36-40' dial through to the '00-03' dial styles have the same dimensions and fit the tank-mounted dash of FL, FLH, Fat Bob, FLST, FXST etc. models. Please note that a small modification to the dash may be necessary to fit the reset knob correctly. The 2:1 ratio is suitable for most front-wheel-drive models; the 1:1 drive ratio is suitable for most models with a rear-wheel transmission. 84-95 Softail models may have a different 2.24:1 ratio, for which some speedometers are listed.
Note: Indicators from 1991 onwards will no longer self-cancel.
