For reference only: For identification purposes, we have named the earlier speedometer faces 'FL style' with 'model years'. These may not accurately represent the actual model years and are for reference use only.
Most FL-style speedometers are available with K.M.H. or M.P.H. faces. All speedometers from the '36-40' face to the '00-03' face have the same dimensions and fit the tank-mounted dash style of FL, FLH, Fat Bob, FLST, FXST, etc. Please note that a small modification to the dash may be necessary to fit the reset knob correctly. The 2:1 ratio is suitable for most front-wheel-drive models; the 1:1 transmission ratio is suitable for most rear-transmission models. 84-95 Softail models may have a different ratio of 2.24:1, for which there are some speedometers listed.
Note: Indicators from 1991 onwards will no longer self-cancel.
