JIMS, axle sprocket. 30-54 B.T.

The sprocket shaft is splined, use wrench 23985-12 (MCS 517945). Use nut JIMS 24023-36 (MCS 978258) on the flywheel side and nut 24003-30 (MCS 518561) on the sprocket side.
JIMS axles are precision machined in Camarillo, California, from special-order steel. Every part is thoroughly inspected and, after heat treatment, all threads undergo a special process to withstand greater torsional stress. All axles have a ground finish of 16 micro-inches or better unless otherwise stated. All ground diameters are concentric within .0003", making centring and reconditioning quicker and requiring less effort.
