JIMS, crown shaft only. L81-85 & 70-99 B.T.

With 6° market taper/keyway groove. Compatible with L81-85 OEM flywheels (without keyway groove) and 70-99 B.T. market flywheels (with keyway groove). The pinion shaft has a keyway groove; use key 23985-56 (MCS 517960). The taper is 6°. The shaft has a length of 4.262" from the bearing shoulder to the end of the small thread. Use JIMS nut 24017-80 (MCS 978257) on the flywheel side and nut 24003-55 (MCS 517999) on the pinion side.
JIMS axles are precision machined in Camarillo, California, from special-order steel. Each part is thoroughly inspected and, after heat treatment, all threads undergo a special process to withstand greater torsional stress. All axles have a ground finish of 16 microns or better, unless otherwise stated. All ground diameters are concentric within .0003", which speeds up centring and reconditioning with less effort.
