James "Steelcore" gaskets with coated metal core - 3 5/8"

These James gaskets have been manufactured with a soft steel core, SAE 1010, which neither cracks nor breaks even when subjected to high forces. The steel core is coated on both sides with heat- and oil-resistant silicone rubber. This rubber layer seals the surfaces with maximum security, and also has a special treatment to facilitate removal and prevent the rubber sticking to the aluminium parts. The cylinder base gaskets have silicone beads around the central hole and the outer perimeter, on both sides of the gasket. This means they seal perfectly even at very high temperatures and high pressures, maintain tightening torque and do not deform or become hard like paper gaskets. Their excellent sealing capability combined with far greater durability than original gaskets makes these gaskets the ideal choice for both standard and performance engines.
