If you are talking about a custom-built frame kit capable of supporting a true "Big-Bad-Fat-Tire", you are referring to our "Super-Ass" frame kits. The frames used in these kits are our Softail-approved frames featuring 1 1/4" tubing, supplied complete with a swingarm wide enough to accept a 250-series rear wheel on an 8" rim while still accommodating the original final drive belt. When using the 1 1/8" wide belt final drive from 2000 onwards, you can even fit a 260-series rear wheel on a 9" wide rim. Use a 132-tooth belt with 32/65 or 32/66 pulley combinations, or a 133-tooth belt with 32/68 pulley combinations. These frame and swingarm combinations are not only the most attractive kits available but also handle exceptionally well and withstand the most severe stress, vibration, and fatigue tests. It is standard practice for the engine and transmission combination to fit this frame without grinding, drilling, or any other modifications. The steering head is raked at 38 degrees, requiring a fork with 4 to 8" of extra travel depending on the wheel and tyre size used. All mounts for the side stand and front controls are welded in place. The frames are fully TIG welded for superior strength. Due to the variety of custom wheels, axle spacers are not included. The mudguard and mudguard stays, the 25mm extended sprocket axle extension, and the 25mm extended sprocket axle nut must be ordered separately.
