Some high-compression bikes, large-displacement engines, or Single Fire ignition systems may have starting problems. This is usually because the starter motor draws more current than the original electrical system can supply. Under these conditions, the voltage at the coil can be so low that the spark energy is insufficient to ignite the engine.
