Installation recommendations:
When applying wheel weights, the rim must be clean, dry, free of solvents and oils, and at a minimum temperature. Motion Pro recommends using a water-based cleaner such as Formula 409 to remove grease and dirt, then wiping the rim with isopropyl alcohol to ensure a clean, dry surface before applying the wheel weights. The minimum temperature for applying wheel weights should be at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Some solvents and contact cleaners may leave residues that prevent proper adhesion of the wheel weights. Removal of old adhesive can be done easily with a citrus-based solvent; do not use products such as WD40, as they leave a significant oily residue that prevents proper adhesion. Temperatures below 60 degrees F do not allow proper adhesion of the wheel weights, and bear in mind that any solvent used will evaporate more slowly at low temperatures, so you should allow more time for cleaning rims in cold conditions.
