Compu-Fire has developed the "Gen III" starter motors with a huge amount of cranking power that easily starts any engine, big or small. The additional power of the starter motor is achieved through the use of Neodymium Rare Earth permanent magnets, so this starter no longer uses field coils. This drastically reduces battery amperage consumption. Combined with the 6:1 transmission ratio, it uses only 175Amp. and will start any engine. Another strong point: there is no need to switch to a larger battery if using a Big Inch engine. This smooth, polished, chrome-finished starter is the only one available with true centre-shaft alignment through the use of 3 planetary gears. The special high-speed version is highly recommended for pre-2007 fuel-injected models with a stock engine.
