Hitachi style starter motors

Super-durable reproductions of the original Hitachi starter motors used in Sportster 1974-early 1976, FL late 1982-1984, FX 1974-1988, FLT 1984-1988 and FXR late 1983-1988. This type of starter motor is commonly known as the "short type". All components are interchangeable with OEM starter motors. 
Note: Hitachi and Prestolite starter motors and spare parts are interchangeable, always check which type of starter motor is used on your Harley before ordering. An original Hitachi starter motor has an 80mm diameter, a 145mm case length and two UNF #10-24 through bolts. An original Prestolite starter has a 70mm diameter, a 173mm case length and two UNC 1/4-20 through bolts.
