Keith Black cast hypereutectic pistons - forged KB Hyper TC96 3.880 Big Bore

Keith Black is one of the most respected US designers and builders of Drag-Race engines. He was the first to build V-8 racing engines exceeding 4000 horsepower. Keith has poured all his knowledge and experience into manufacturing aftermarket pistons for Harley-Davidson. The use of a special hypereutectic aluminium alloy, developed and race-tested by Keith himself, results in pistons that are lighter and offer more functionality than expensive forged pistons. Key features include reduced wear, lower fuel and oil consumption, tighter operating tolerances resulting in a quieter-running engine, and increased power output. The low heat transfer properties of the hypereutectic aluminium alloy keep the skirts cool and minimise piston expansion. Test engines have been run with a minimum clearance of 0.0005" (1/2 thou) between the piston and the cylinder wall. The high ring placement reduces detonation and increases the temperature of the top ring. Keith Black pistons will deliver peak power 2 to 4 degrees earlier in the cycle compared to conventional pistons. Available in standard sizes and oversizes for Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead and Evolution Big Twin models from 1941 to the present, as well as Sportster 1200. Also available in various big bore and high compression versions, including a Big Bore kit that converts your Sportster 883 into a high-torque 1200 model. The pistons are competitively priced.
 
 Note 1: Complete piston kits contain 2 pistons with Hastings molybdenum chrome rings, piston pins and circlips.
 
 Note 2:A limited number of KB pistons have ring grooves that pass through the wrist pin bore. In order to have the piston rings properly supported, these pistons come with piston ring support rings. As support rings have no sealing function, they do not need to be replaced when installing new piston rings, but sometimes new ones are needed because a ring is lost or broken.
