The dropped rear axle plates are raw cast steel and have 3/8"-18 UNC threads for mounting the mudguard support and backrest, and 3/8"-24 UNF for Big Twin 1936-1972 axle adjusters. They lower the bike by 1 1/2" (38mm). The axle brackets accept 3/4" axles; the brackets will need material added to fit snugly into the rectangular swingarm tube. Welding plugs in from the sides is also recommended. Use the axle and spacers or 3/4" threaded rod for alignment purposes. Welding and fabrication are required for installation. Cut the original rectangular swingarm to the desired length. The builder must cut the swingarm and re-weld the drop axle plates in place and check mudguard clearance.
