12.6" (321mm) -12mm lower; High-strength springs; Black anodised; RAP (Remote Access Preload). Excellent single replacement rear shock. Made with a high-pressure hard black anodised aluminium body, nitrogen filled, with a large 46mm cylinder and deflector disc damping. Includes standard thread or RAP (Remote Adjustable Preload) located behind the passenger's left footpeg for easy-access adjustment. Rebound damping is adjustable in 5 positions. Available in stock and standard, over-length and under-length versions to suit the various factory Softail model lengths.
What are Progressive Suspension 'Heavy Duty' shocks?
If you are a light rider with a light passenger, the STD Duty is probably your best choice; the Heavy Duty shocks will provide a firmer ride. For large riders and passengers with lots of luggage, Heavy Duty springs are the best choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it is different.
The use of Heavy Duty shock absorbers or springs is recommended on motorcycles operating at or near the manufacturer's maximum load for more than 50% of the time.
