Based on the 970 series but designed for an aggressive sport/racing riding style. No other shock offers as much adjustability. Includes linear rate coil spring, adjustable 0.4" eye height and threaded adjustable preload. The auxiliary reservoir (remote for Touring) has a knob for adjusting rebound and high- and low-speed compression. The lightweight high-pressure aluminium body with monotube damping and deflector disc, distributed across two unique circuits, provides a consistent feel throughout the shock stroke for improved performance and stability. The new and improved captured-design jounce bumper helps soften and control bottoming out. Each shock is hand-built and dynamometer-tested to deliver real performance.
What are the differences between Progressive Suspension 'STD Duty' and 'Heavy Duty' shocks?
If you are a light rider with a light passenger, STD Duty is probably your best choice; Heavy Duty shocks will give a harder ride. For big riders with a lot of luggage, Heavy Duty springs are the best choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it is different.
The use of Heavy Duty shock absorbers or springs is recommended on motorcycles operating at or near the manufacturer's maximum load more than 50% of the time.
