444 series shock absorbers:
Incorporates FST (Frequency Sensing Technology) which dynamically adjusts damping according to the road surface condition. Threaded top mount and hand adjustable preload.
Note: Optionally available, the QPS (Quick Preload System) adjustment kit 704545. Replaces the stock top caps of all Touring series 444 and 944 shocks, allowing quick preload adjustment without removing the saddlebags.
What are Progressive Suspension 'Heavy Duty' shocks?
If you are a light rider with a light passenger, the STD Duty series is probably your best option; Heavy Duty shocks will give a firmer feel. For large riders with a lot of luggage, Heavy Duty springs are the right choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it is different.
The use of Heavy Duty shock absorbers or springs is recommended on motorcycles operating at or near the manufacturer's maximum load for more than 50% of the time.
