444 series shock absorbers:
Incorporates FST (Frequency Sensing Technology) which dynamically adjusts damping according to the condition of the road surface. Threaded top mount and hand-adjustable preload.
Note: The QPS (Quick Preload System) 704545 adjustment kit is optionally available. It replaces the stock top caps on all Touring 444 and 944 series shock absorbers, allowing quick preload adjustment without removing the panniers.
What are Progressive Suspension 'Heavy Duty' shocks?
If you are a light rider with a light passenger, the STD Duty series is probably your best choice; the Heavy Duty shocks will offer a firmer ride. For larger riders with a lot of luggage, the Heavy Duty springs are the right choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it is different.
The use of Heavy Duty shock absorbers or springs is recommended on motorcycles operating at or near the manufacturer's maximum load capacity for more than 50% of the time.
