What are Progressive Suspension's 'STD Duty' (Standard Use) vs 'Heavy Duty' shock absorbers?
If you are a light rider with a light passenger, Standard Use is probably your best choice; Heavy Duty shocks would give a firmer ride. For larger riders with a lot of luggage, Heavy Duty springs are the right choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it is different.
It is recommended to use Heavy Duty shock absorbers or springs on motorcycles that operate at or near the manufacturer's maximum load for more than 50% of the time. In short: Standard (suitable for combined rider and passenger weights up to 250 lbs / 113 kg), Heavy Duty (from 250 lbs / 113 kg to 350 lbs / 159 kg) and Super Heavy Duty (from 350 lbs / 159 kg upwards).
