Serie 990 Sport - The best.
Based on the 970 series but designed for an aggressive sporty/racing riding style. No other shock offers this much adjustability. Includes linear rate coil spring, 0.4" adjustable eye height and threaded adjustable preload. The auxiliary reservoir (remote for Touring) features a knob for adjusting rebound and high- and low-speed compression. The lightweight aluminium body with high-pressure monotube and deflective disc damping, distributed across two unique circuits, delivers a consistent feel throughout the shock's travel to improve performance and stability. The new and improved encapsulated jounce bumper helps soften and control bottoming out. Each shock is hand-built and dynamometer tested to guarantee real-world performance.
What is the difference between Progressive Suspension's 'STD Duty' and 'Heavy Duty' shocks?
If you are a lightweight rider with a lightweight passenger, STD Duty is probably your best choice; heavy duty shocks would give a harsher ride. For big riders with a lot of luggage, Heavy Duty springs are the right choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it's different.
The use of Heavy Duty shock absorbers or springs is recommended on motorcycles operating at or near the manufacturer's maximum load more than 50% of the time.
