Based on the 970 series but designed for an aggressive sport/racing riding style. No other shock offers this much adjustment capability. Includes linear-rate coil spring, adjustable 0.4" eye height and adjustable threaded preload. The auxiliary reservoir (remote for Touring) has a knob to adjust rebound and high- and low-speed compression. The lightweight high-pressure aluminium body with monotube technology and deflector disc damping, distributed across two unique circuits, provides a consistent feel throughout the shock's travel to improve performance and stability. The new and improved encapsulated design jounce bumper helps soften and control bottoming out. Each shock is hand-built and dynamometer-tested to guarantee real-world performance.
What is the difference between Progressive Suspension's 'STD Duty' and 'Heavy Duty' shocks?
If you are a lightweight rider with a lightweight passenger, STD Duty is probably your best choice; heavy duty shocks will give a harsher ride. For big riders with a lot of luggage, Heavy Duty springs are the best choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it's different.
Heavy Duty shocks or springs are recommended on motorcycles operated at or near the manufacturer's maximum load more than 50% of the time.
