S&S, tuning kit for 124" Twin Cam Softail hot heads. Black

Wrinkle black paint with highlighted fins. Upgrades your factory 96" or 103" engine to 124" displacement. The kit includes stroke crankshaft flywheels, big bore cylinder and flat-top piston kit offering a 10.8:1 compression ratio with the included 91cc high-flow heads. The 640 Easy Start gear cams provide the lift needed to allow this engine to breathe, yet guarantee easy starting with the factory starter and battery.
Note 1: The factory crankcases must be machined to accept the 4-1/8" big bore cylinders. The kit adds .096" to engine height.
Note 2: You will be building a serious high-performance engine. Therefore, it is not compatible with the factory ignition and factory throttle bodies (too small). A large throttle body, such as the S&S 558678 58mm single-bore unit, and a high-performance ECU are required. Carburetted engines will require an ignition system with adjustable advance curves and a large carburettor, such as the S&S Super G or similar. The kits are machined to be compatible with factory-length headers.
Note 3: S&S recommends the JIMS MCS 978519 crankcase bearing insert, for 03-17 Twin Cam models, to replace the factory roller bearing with the stronger old-style Timken bearing. See MCS 978517 for the required JIMS tool. The correct Timken bearing can be ordered as MCS 508960 / OEM 9028.
