S&S, piston ring set 4-1/8" diameter. +.010'

S&S chr/moly replacement piston ring set. Compatible with all S&S Super Sidewinder Plus (incl. TC) with a 4-1/8" cylinder bore.
Standard cylinder diameter: 4.125" (104.78mm).
Note on compression ring gap: It is very important to determine the correct gap of newly installed piston rings. A gap that is too narrow can cause premature ring/cylinder wall wear or even seizing, breaking the rings and/or damaging the pistons and/or cylinder walls, etc. A wider than necessary ring gap will cause unnecessary loss of compression and reduced engine efficiency.
The recommended ring gap is .004" per inch of cylinder bore for street engines. For an engine with a 3-5/8" (3.625") bore, the piston ring gap would be 3.625" x .004" = .0145".
(.0145" x 25.4 = 0.3683mm or, rounded, 0.37mm).
