S&S chr/moly replacement piston ring set. Compatible with all 4" bore S&S Super Sidewinders (incl. TC).
Standard cylinder diameter: 4.00" (101.60mm).
Note: compression ring gap. It is very important to determine the correct gap of newly installed piston rings. A gap that is too narrow can cause premature wear of the piston rings/cylinder wall or even seizure, breaking the rings and/or damaging the pistons and/or cylinder walls, etc. A wider than necessary piston ring gap will cause unnecessary loss of compression and reduced engine efficiency.
The recommended ring gap is .004" per inch of cylinder bore for street engines. For a 3-5/8" (3.625") bore, the piston ring gap would be 3.625" x .004" = .0145".
(.0145" x 25.4 = 0.3683mm or, rounded, 0.37mm).
