S&S, hydraulic unit 53-84

OEM reproduction hydraulic unit. Can be used as a direct replacement for S&S lifter kits 512881/512882. Also fits as a direct OEM replacement for hydraulic unit 17920-53A.
Note: Not compatible with S&S SH series (Shovel style) engines.
Note: Old style hydraulic lifter sets can be purchased as an assembly (hydraulic unit + roller lifter body) or as individual parts.
When buying individual parts, correct tolerance cannot be guaranteed, which may affect hydraulic operation. Dealers with larger stock can combine hydraulic units and tappet bodies to form a set offering excellent bleed times.
For the others, it is recommended to purchase a complete hydraulic unit and tappet body set from the same manufacturer, such as S&S or JIMS. These are machined with the correct tolerance to each other to work properly from the word go.
