Replaces the OEM style 8990/A ball bearing. This bearing is compatible with all models as front and rear outer cam bearings.
Note: MoCo redesigned the Twin Cam rear outer cam bearing from ball to roller in 2001. This was done to prevent failures in the ball bearings, specifically in the rear (drive side) cams which carry a heavier load. The 01-up style roller bearing is a 3-piece design and is stronger than the earlier roller bearing. No other parts were changed during the bearing modification. The 99-00 style ball bearings remain compatible with 99-06 front and rear models. Using front and rear ball bearings poses no problems with cam-driven gears.
