S&S camshaft kit, M8 chain-driven, 550C

Horsepower crankshaft for 114 and larger engines. On the S&S dynamometer, a 114" Street Glide with a Stealth air filter and Power Tune dual exhausts with Mk45 silencers achieved 120 HP. The kit includes the crankshaft, all necessary bearings, O-rings and hardware. Gear-driven crankshafts offer greater valve timing precision, but generate more mechanical noise compared to chain-driven crankshafts. This increased mechanical noise is the reason original equipment manufacturers use chain-driven crankshafts.
Note: This is a small base circle crankshaft. It requires adjustable pushrods and high-strength valve springs. S&S recommends the Quickee pushrod and cover kit 558660 and the S&S 0.605" high-strength valve spring kit 565784.
Note: For best performance, as with all high-performance crankshafts, the use of a free-flowing air filter and exhaust system is recommended.
