S&S, small sprocket L77-89. Orange

All S&S pinions are designed to be used with a 24T style B.T. 73-99 driven gear (OEM 26345-73 / MCS 531209 S&S).
The colour coding sequence is identical to the original H-D coding. When in doubt, use a gear on the middle to small side of the range. A combination of smaller gears should provide proper backlash in most circumstances. Both excessive backlash and zero backlash cause engine noise, but zero backlash causes seizure and premature wear.
The sizes are as follows:
909084 Orange (larger). Replaces 24040-78.
909085 White. Replaces 24041-78.
909090 Yellow. Replaces 24042-78.
909095 Red (average). Replaces 24043-78.
909100 Blue (average). Replaces 24044-78.
909105 Green. Replaces 24045-78.
909106 Black (smaller). Replaces 24046-78.
