S&S, reed breathing valve. D.E. STD

For models with head-breathing. Functionally similar to the S&S Reed valve for Twin Cam models. Unlike the conventional rotary breather valve, which opens and closes via crankshaft rotation and a preset timing, the Reed valve uses actual pressure to open and close at precisely the right moment; this ideal timing varies with RPM. This gives the Reed valve an advantage over the fixed-timing mechanical breather valve by reducing oil carry-over, especially under high RPM conditions.
Note: Not suitable for models with crankcase breather.
