S&S, SuperStock cylinder head kit. Black

Black powder-coated finish. High-performance stock-type replacement for Twin Cam models, compatible with stock headers, rocker covers and exhausts. The cylinder heads have a 79cc chamber and accept 1.940" intake and 1.575" exhaust valves of stock diameter. The heads support up to 0.650" valve lift and are designed to be used with lifts at TDC of up to 0.186" on intake and 0.179" on exhaust, combined with stock pistons. This allows the use of S&S 510, 570 and 585 camshafts. The heads can have the seat machined up to 0.060" to increase compression, but valve lift clearance checks are required. Expected compression ratios for unmodified heads with stock pistons will be approximately 9.8 CR (96"), 10.2 CR (103"), 11.1 CR (103" with S&S pop-up pistons) and 10.8 CR (110"). The heads are supplied complete with valves, guides and springs installed.
Note: Compatible with stock rocker covers, but S&S compression release or S&S Easy Start camshafts must be used to maintain easy electric starting due to the increased compression ratio. The cylinder heads are machined to accept compression releases and manual compression release plugs are included.
Note: Not compatible with stock rocker cover gaskets. The special rocker cover gasket kit 532583 must be used with stock rocker covers. These are required for correct engine breathing.
