S&S Cycle is now offering welded flywheels alongside their regular press together flywheels. With the significant displacement and horsepower gains modern v-twins are seeing, customers wanted a welded option for flywheels, so they delivered. The flywheel assembly is trued between mainshaft centers before and after welding to be within .0005” or less TIR (Total Indicated Runout). Welded flywheels have thrust washer lubrication grooves in the inside faces of wheel halves. Come with upgraded bronze thrust washers to resist thrusting forces under heavy loads, high rpm and high horsepower. Dynamically balanced to a 52% balance factor. Come with forged connecting rods and roller bearings. Welded crankpin improves the ability of the flywheel to stay true under extreme service and prevents spreading at high rpm.
